"We're going to have a fantastic future together," U.S. President Donald Trump noted at a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on May 14, during his state visit to China from May 13-15.
"There are those who say this is maybe the biggest summit ever," Trump said in his opening remarks. "They can never remember anything like it."
Reflecting on their personal bond, Trump described it as the "longest relationship" ever shared by any two presidents of the two countries.
"It's an honor to be your friend and the relationship between China and the USA is going to be better than ever before," Trump said.
