The 139th Canton Fair concluded on May 5, marking another milestone in global trade. This edition of the fair saw a record-breaking influx of international buyers, particularly from the Belt and Road partner countries.
Among the thousands of entrepreneurs navigating the bustling aisles of Phase 3 of the fair was Daniiar Arpidinov, founder and CEO of Giga Trading (Giga Textile).
A major player in the Central Asian textile market, Daniiar and his team manage the largest warehouses in Kyrgyzstan and distribution hubs in Russia.
For him, the conclusion of this fair is not just an end, but a new beginning for his supply chain. "I don't think I can explain the importance of the Canton Fair in words... it's too important," Daniiar remarked. "I tell my partners: you have to see it with your own eyes."
At the core of Daniiar's business is the quality of Guangdong-made knitted fabrics. Currently, 60% to 70% of the company's raw materials are shipped from Guangdong to Uzbekistan. "The products made in Guangdong, especially, we can sell very easily. The price and quality are simply ahead," he said.
With a current monthly sale of 500 tons, Daniiar came to this session with a clear goal: to find more reliable partners. "We can easily sell more than 1,000 tons per month. That is why I am here to find at least three more large-scale Chinese partners who can support our growth."
Daniiar also said the success of this year's fair was supported by China's more convenient visa policies. With visa-free entry for countries such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Russia, the "Silk Road" has never been more accessible. "Now, it's not only during the fair; so many people visit Guangdong before and after. You can find almost anything here (in Guangdong)."
