Xige Beach is the closest beach to the sea along the entire Maoming section of the Guangdong Coastal Tourism Highway. Guangdong is building the world's longest coastal highway, with a total length of 1,875 kilometers. The highway is planned to pass through 14 coastal cities and 90 scenic spots. In August 2022, the Maoming Pilot Section of the Guangdong Coastal Tourism Highway was the first to be completed and opened to traffic, making it possible for people to drive along the coastline in Maoming.
Zhang Chungui, the operation manager of the Xige Rest Stop, announced that in the future, they plan to organize cultural and tourism events such as seaside concerts and beer festivals. Additionally, an open-air bar will be built, allowing visitors to savor fine-crafted brews while enjoying the pleasant experience of the sea breeze by the shore.
