At the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos this January, U.S. President Trump claimed China manufactured numerous wind turbines, yet he could not find wind farms in China.
"I don't think it's true," said John Wallace, Director of the Asia Pacific Journalism Center (Australia) during his on-site visit. He said that wind farms could be seen everywhere across China and he was deeply impressed by China's renewable energy technologies and the green-energy progress.
Starting September 2, delegations from APEC economies are attending the Asia-Pacific Media Forum and touring the Greater Bay Area. Their itinerary includes visits to the cities of Guangzhou, Foshan, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhuhai and Zhongshan.
The delegations visited Ming Yang Smart Energy Group Co., Ltd., a top-tier global wind turbine maker founded in 2006 and based in Zhongshan, Guangdong. It leads offshore wind innovation. Its solutions are applied to over 2,200 projects across 60 countries to advance global net-zero goals.
