At the Asia-Pacific Media Forum in Shenzhen on September 5, 2026, Josh Selig, Founder and President of China Bridge Content, shared his insights on the rising global influence of Chinese intellectual property.
A 12-time Emmy Award winner and a seasoned producer of hit animated series like Wonder Pets! and Super Wings, Selig has been bridging the Chinese and US media industries for years.
Selig's optimism is grounded in first-hand experience. After touring advanced factories in Dongguan, he remarked: "Everybody knows that the best products in the world are produced here in Southern China." He described the state-of-the-art facilities as "amazing" and "very clean and efficient," stressing that "Southern China has an impact globally, whether people know that or not."
His company, China Bridge Content, specializes in animated co-productions with partners from China, the US and Europe. Selig is "very optimistic" about the future of cultural exchanges and commercial interaction between countries. He pointed to a watershed moment for Chinese creativity: films like Ne Zha 2, games like Black Myth: Wukong, and toys like Pop Mart and Labubu have all achieved worldwide success. "There's never been a better time for Chinese IP globally," he said. "Everybody is hungry to see what will come out of China next."
