June 22 marked Day 4 of Foshan's Diejiao Dragon Boat Drift Race, often dubbed the "Waterborne F1," and the excitement continues to rise.
"J-Turn" course is one of this year's most intense new formats. It also has a vivid name: "Double Dragon Chase". Two teams set off from opposite directions, racing head-to-head along the same narrow river. Two 25-meter-long dragon boats blast through a river just four meters wide. Waves crash and water explodes.
It's not just about speed—crews also have to keep the boat steady and maintain control through the surging waves. This is a true test of speed, skill, and courage. Twenty teams compete in one-on-one, two-round battles, with the total time deciding the winner.
In Foshan, dragon boat racing is being redefined. The format may change, but what never changes is the fighting spirit deeply rooted in the Chinese people.
