ARCTEC chairman: Russian buyers seek Guangdong-made solutions ranging from electronics to food machinery

The 2026 Guangdong Quality Products Exhibition opened on July 24 in Guangzhou, the provincial capital of Guangdong, offering a new sourcing channel for global buyers.

The exhibition is a key pillar of the "Guangdong Goods Go Global" autumn campaign, which was launched on the same day to connect high-quality Guangdong-made products with domestic and international markets.

Ilya Bannikov, chairman of the Association of Russian-Chinese Trade and Economic Cooperation (ARCTEC), shared his insights on the growing demand for Guangdong products in the Russian market. He noted that Russian companies and consumers have shown strong interest in consumer electronics, automotive equipment and food-processing machinery, all of which are in strong demand in Russia.

"Every time we buy in China, we purchase a lot of equipment and many products from Guangdong for Russia's food industry," he said. He added that his members source goods from Foshan, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, such as food-processing equipment, manufacturing equipment and electronic products.

Bannikov emphasized that his delegation is keen to explore sourcing opportunities for electronic products, technical equipment and automotive components at the exhibition.
