The launch ceremony for "2026 Charming China (Guangdong): Lingnan Culture Travels to the South Pacific" was held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG), on the morning of July 31.
Chinese Ambassador to PNG Yang Xiaoguang attended the ceremony and spoke to the media later that day. He said: "PNG is an important APEC member. During PNG PM James Marape's visit to Guangdong in late April this year, he publicly stated several times that he intends to attend this November's APEC meeting. China and PNG have a comprehensive strategic partnership, and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. We warmly welcome PNG PM James Marape to Shenzhen this November for the 2026 APEC meeting."
