15 years, 9 stories: WorldSkills journey of Guangdong's skilled talents | Skills open the world

China first took part in the WorldSkills Competition in 2011. From winning one Silver medal and five Medallions for Excellence at the 41st WorldSkills Competition to topping the gold medal table at the 47th edition, Chinese competitors have steadily strengthened their presence on the global stage.

Guangdong has played a key role in that journey, winning 27 Gold medals, 12 Silver medals, 8 Bronze medals, and 26 Medallions for Excellence—the highest medal tally among all provincial-level teams in China.

The 48th WorldSkills Competition will be held in Shanghai this September, marking the first time the event will be held in the Chinese mainland. To celebrate World Youth Skills Day, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security has launched "Skills Open the World", a nine-part feature series featuring WorldSkills medalists from various generations. Their journeys—from the WorldSkills stage venues to classrooms, factories, laboratories, and technology companies—show how skills can shape careers and opportunities and reflect China's WorldSkills journey over the past 15 years.

Skills open the world. Your skills can take you anywhere.
