On October 11, US President Donald Trump threatened a 100% tariff on China's U.S.-bound exports along with new export controls on "any and all critical software" by November 1.
In an exclusive interview with South, Li Cheng, Founding Director of the Centre on Contemporary China and the World at the University of Hong Kong, noted that this is a common Trump negotiating tactic, but it's been overused to the point that it's become trivial.
