On November 9, 2025, the opening ceremony of China's 15th National Games was held in Guangzhou. The delegations of co-hosts Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao made a joint appearance. This marks the first time the three regions have collaboratively organized the event.
The 15th National Games feature a strong presence of all three delegations. Guangdong has sent 1,880 athletes to compete, while Hong Kong has fielded its largest-ever delegation, with 1,362 athletes participating in 28 competitive and 23 mass-participation events. Meanwhile, athletes from Macao will compete in 23 competitive and 14 mass-participation events.
