They set it. They did it: APEC official amazed by HMZB

An APEC Secretariat official sees the possibilities and opportunities while visiting the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HMZB), a 55-km mega-project linking Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Starting September 2, delegations from APEC economies are attending the Asia-Pacific Media Forum and touring the Greater Bay Area. Their itinerary includes visits to the cities of Guangzhou, Foshan, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhuhai and Zhongshan.

Opened in 2018, the bridge has cut the road journey between the three cities from around three hours to just 45 minutes. By the end of 2025, it had served over 107 million passenger trips and more than 14.62 million vehicle crossings.

But it is more than a bridge. Connecting people, trade and ideas, the mega-project is opening up new possibilities and opportunities around the world.
