Indian scholar: Prolonged Middle East conflict will hit India harder

"The longer the war lasts, the more it will affect every country. If you're asking me about India, it is going to affect India in significant ways," said Aravind Yelery, Associate Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University in India.

In his opinion, any prolonged disruption around the Strait of Hormuz would put additional pressure on India's energy security, as India has limited alternatives to replace those supplies.

He emphasized that India's close ties with Israel do not come at the expense of its relationship with Iran. Rather than choosing one side over the other, India seeks to maintain a balanced relationship with both countries.
