On May 16, the second leg of the 9th Jiujiang Dragon Boat League, a five-person dragon boat "water marathon", was held in Jiujiang Town, Foshan, attracting 111 top teams from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The teams raced 22 kilometers along the Beijiang River, passing through Shatou Creek and the Jiujiang waterway to connect the Beijiang and Xijiang river systems, before finishing at the Shangdong Dragon Boat Viewing Platform. Over the two-and-a-half-hour race, the winding course tested not only speed, but also endurance, teamwork and determination.

In the final results, the Guangdong Yuanlin Dragon Boat Team and the Yihong Food Team claimed first place in the Open and Town categories, respectively.

With a dense waterway network and a deeply rooted dragon boat tradition, the town has more than 600 dragon boats of various sizes. Nearly every village has its own team, and races are held throughout the year.
