Foreign influencers tour Yangxi County to boost local oysters and rural brand

Three foreign influencers from Ukraine, South Korea and Türkiye visited Yangxi County in western Guangdong on August 27 to explore its local attractions and products.

During the two-day tour, they visited villages, oyster farms, wetlands, cultural exhibition halls and historic homestays converted from old village houses.

For Ovsiienko Alina, a Ukrainian vlogger based in Guangdong, the coastal scenery and local seafood made a strong impression.

"Very beautiful seaside, delicious food and amazing vibes," she said.

South Korean vlogger Choi Jihye said she planned to introduce Yangjiang oysters to her followers.

"I want to promote the Yangjiang oysters to my fans," she said. "Because here, lots of people sell oysters and grow oysters. It sounds really interesting. And maybe my fans will also be interested in these oysters and this city."

Turkish vlogger Kayan Ugur said he was struck by the peaceful atmosphere of the villages he visited.

"The village was very peaceful," he said. "I'm Turkish and I really love dogs and cats, and I saw many dogs in the streets. Looks like the people here also really like animals. This place made me feel very comfortable, like I was at home in Türkiye, but also even more like I was at home in China."

The tour included stops at the Chengcun Oyster Cultural Exhibition Hall, a mangrove boardwalk offering views of egrets and boutique homestays converted from abandoned village houses.
