At the Tangjia Port in Guangdong's Zhuhai, an unmanned aerial vehicle base, Kishore Mahbubani saw drones performing island inspections, firefighting, and logistics.
His focus, however, was on the future of passenger transport. During a demonstration of an eVTOL "air taxi," he immediately asked about safety: "How many propellers can fail before you cannot land?"
The answer—that the aircraft can land stably even with multiple failures—along with the fact that it holds the world's first commercial airworthiness certification for such vehicles, left a strong impression. For Mahbubani, it was a clear example of China's technological leadership.
