"China upholds an objective and impartial attitude, and has repeatedly clarified its principle and stance, which can be summarized as one sentence: A ceasefire ends the war," noted Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on March 8.
Wang spoke at a press conference on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress.
Faced with the Middle East engulfed in war, he said that this was a war that should never have happened, and one that benefits no party.
"China willingly reiterates its call for an immediate cessation of military operations to prevent further escalation and the spread of war," Wand added.
