On July 8, the 2026 Global Writers in Guangdong Program kicked off its first day of field visits in Shenzhen. On the first stop, six writers from APEC member economies visited the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning. They toured the exhibition "Tide of the Pearl River: 40 Years of Reform and Opening-Up in Guangdong." After that, the group visited Luohu Fishermen's Village. In the afternoon, the six writers visited the Seventh Impression Culture Media and Qianhai Building No. 5 to explore Shenzhen's tech vitality.
