Have you heard of random stitch embroidery? What happens when embroidery meets a sports event?
From November 9 to 21, the Main Press Centre (MPC) of China's 15th National Games is hosting a Lingnan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Area, where different projects are showcased daily.
As one of the techniques featured at the exhibition, random stitch embroidery has garnered significant attention. It is a traditional Chinese embroidery technique and was included in the ninth batch of Intangible Cultural Heritage projects in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, Guangdong. It features seemingly chaotic stitches and vibrant patterns with 3D-like light and shadow effects. Despite its "random" appearance, every stitch is carefully placed, blending art and craftsmanship in a truly mesmerizing way.
