On May 6, the Executive Director of the APEC Secretariat returned to Shenzhen, marking his second public appearance in the city since last December. Instead of attending a high-level summit, he joined the Nanshan Science and Technology Innovation Day for a face-to-face dialogue with young founders.
He noted that one of today's key challenges is to ensure that technology serves humans fairly. As APEC "China Year" unfolds, innovations that began in Shenzhen, from drone delivery to palm payment, are reaching more Asia-Pacific economies and improving lives across the region.
