Journalists from APEC economies praise Guangdong's rapid development

A delegation of journalists from APEC economies concluded a six-day visit to south China's Guangdong Province on April 26, after touring major cities including Zhuhai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

During the trip, the group visited a range of technology hubs, infrastructure projects and cultural landmarks, gaining firsthand insight into the region's rapid development and innovation.

From robotics and artificial intelligence to urban planning and heritage sites, the visit offered a comprehensive look at Guangdong's role as a driver of Chinese modernization.

At the end of the tour, a salon themed "See You in Guangdong - Sharing APEC Stories" brought the journalists together to reflect on their experiences.

Many highlighted the diversity within the group, noting that participants from Asia and Latin America found common ground through shared experiences during the journey.

Several journalists said the visit helped deepen their understanding of China's technological progress and development model. Others expressed expectations for China's role as host of APEC in 2026, saying it could create more opportunities for cooperation among developing economies.

The delegation also emphasized the importance of exchange programs in narrowing differences and fostering closer ties across APEC economies.
