At the Osaka World Expo, I set out to document cultural exchange. But I met someone who reminded me that real connection starts from within. Xinru is Malaysian, Teochew by heritage, and flew from South Korea just to see the Guangdong performances at the China Pavilion. For three days, she stayed only in the Pavilion, saying it felt like a cure for homesickness, like a piece of her was finally home. She started self -learning Chinese culture from her childhood, when it wasn't taught in school. And she believes: "You must understand and love your own culture, only then can you truly exchange with others."
