The 2025 Zuotan Intangible Cultural Heritage Sauce Fish Festival took place in Zuotan Village, Longjiang Town, Shunde District, Foshan City, from December 6 to 7.

Deng Fenxiong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zuotan Village, acted as a "tour guide," warmly inviting tourists from around the world to come to Zuotan for the fun of "moyu (to loaf on the job)" and to savor the local delicacies.

Sauce fish is a "winter-exclusive treat" of Zuotan, Longjiang in Shunde, and more importantly, it is a winter flavor memory for the local people. This delicacy is made by selecting plump mud carps available in winter, coating them with Longjiang's unique dark soy sauce, and then slow-drying them under the sun—only through this process can this authentic and rich flavor be achieved.

In 2022, the craftsmanship of making Zuotan sauce fish was successfully included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of Shunde District.

Since its debut in 2018, the festival has a history of seven years. By creating a grand celebration centered around a single fish, Longjiang's Zuotan has developed the "Sauce Fish ICH Festival" into a well-known rural cultural brand.

This year, with "moyu" as the highlight, the festival offers people an immersive experience of the countryside's authentic flavors and natural scenery. It allows visitors to enjoy a relaxing leisure journey and relieve the fatigue and pressure of daily life.

The festival features a more diverse array of activities this year: an in-depth cultural experience of the "ICH Mulberry Garden Tour," the thrilling excitement of the dragon boat race, and more.
