"There are tremendous opportunities in international trade in services, and China has a very innovative and vibrant services sector," said Christopher Findlay, a member of the Australian Pacific Economic Cooperation Committee, in an interview with South on February 5.
The First Senior Officials' Meeting and Related Meetings (SOM1) of APEC China 2026 is being held in Guangzhou, in southern China, from February 1 to 10.
As a participant in the meetings, Findlay noted that APEC provides an effective platform for addressing differences in rules and regulations governing trade in services across economies.
Within this framework, he believes that China is well positioned to fully leverage its strengths in the services trade.
