This claim came during a recent exclusive interview with GDToday. Roberto Zapata, Former Ambassador of Mexico to the WTO (2017-2019), highlighted Mexico's role as a gateway between Asia and North America amid Donald Trump's tariffs worldwide.
As a seasoned practitioner in international trade negotiations, including Chief Negotiator of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement for his country, Zapata observed that emerging economies realized they need to diversify their economies and their efforts to address tariffs at present.
