The APEC First Senior Officials' Meeting and Related Meetings (SOM1), the first event of APEC China 2026, are being held in Guangzhou from February 1 to February 10.
Delegates from 21 member economies visited Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, during the meeting.
After visiting Haixinsha Technology Island, Gianpiero Antonazzo, Head of East Asia and Pacific Investigative Team of the World Bank Group, was impressed by Guangdong's tech innovations. He told reporters he wanted to take products like XPeng's flying car and other drones home, and even placed an order for an Insta360 camera on the spot.
