Foreigners explore Xinyi: A "Chinese Amazon" hides in this small city of Western Guangdong

"I never imagined such a place existed in Guangdong!" exclaimed Indian vlogger Priyasha Sharma from a boat on the Hutiao Gorge of the Huanghua River in Xinyi, Maoming City.

Recently, vloggers from multiple countries joined the "Friends in Guangdong" cultural activity, exploring the small city of Xinyi, Maoming in western Guangdong, and were deeply enchanted by its landscapes and culture.

From the sprawling plum orchards in Qianpai Town to the vast bamboo sea in Pingtang Town, and from dragon boat experiences on the Huanghua River, Xinyi blends ecology with humanity.

Turkish vlogger Kaya, a Shenzhen expat, was captivated by the bamboo sea: "The air is so sweet, and the green bamboo instantly relaxes you—I really want to stay here all the time!"

After the trip, the vloggers became Xinyi's "international ambassadors," sharing the city's unique charm with the world through platforms like YouTube and Instagram.

Xinyi's story is attracting global attention. As Alexandra Louise Ogden put it, "This place showcases a different kind of beauty in China—it deserves to be seen by the world."
