The 2025 Understanding China Conference is being held in Guangzhou from November 30 to December 2, under the theme "New Plan, New Development, New Choices: Chinese Modernization and New Vision for Global Governance." Approximately 200 delegates from 72 countries, along with representatives from the Hong Kong and Macao SARs, will attend the conference.
Wolfgang Schüssel, Former Chancellor of Austria, praised the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) as a rising global innovation hub. He described the region's integration as "remarkable" and "fascinating," noting its strong potential to become one of the world's most dynamic centers for new ideas and technology. He highlighted the GBA as a model for future inter-regional cooperation, emphasizing that such collaboration not only drives innovation but also provides shared benefits for all.
