On May 27, 2025, the launch ceremony for 2025 Guangdong Qingyuan Drifting Culture and Tourism Season and the 2025 International Drifting Competition (Qingyuan, China) kicked off at Gulong Gorge Scenic Area in Qingyuan City.
A total of 80 teams—comprising professional athletes and drifting enthusiasts from China, Russia, Brazil, Ukraine, and Belarus—competed side by side.
Two-time Olympic diving champion Gao Min and women's rowing world champion Huang Wenyi were invited to lend their star power in support of the competition.
At the venue, both champions shared unique insights on integrating Qingyuan's drifting tourism with sports. They also offered expert commentary on drifting techniques, drawing from their professional training and competitive experience.
