Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport continues to delight travelers with the ongoing "Sweet Touchdown in Guangdong: Chill with Lychee" tasting event, drawing visitors eager to savor the region's beloved summer fruit.
Jointly hosted by South of the Nanfang Media Group and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, this vibrant three-day pop-up runs from July 16 to 18 at Terminal 1's Arrival Hall A. The event brings Guangdong's famed lychee culture directly to the arrivals hall, offering an authentic local experience for travelers from home and abroad.
Visitors have been tasting chilled premium lychee varieties, including the fragrant Guiwei (桂味), the rare Xianjinfeng (仙进奉), and the richly hued Jingang Hongnuo (井冈红糯). The fresh, juicy flavors capture the essence of Lingnan's summer bounty.
The event is more than a tasting, travelers enjoy lively flash mobs in traditional Lingnan attire distributing lychees, with performances blending ancient poetry, modern illustration, and regional cultural elements.
The venue features themed photo backdrops, interactive displays highlighting key lychee-producing cities like Guangzhou, Maoming, and Dongguan, as well as frozen lychee treats and souvenir packs.
