On May 21, the Forum on Building up China's Cultural Strength 2026 opened in Shenzhen under the theme "Preserving Cultural Heritage and Fostering Cultural Innovation." Bringing together leading scholars and experts, the forum explores pathways for advancing cultural development in a rapidly changing world.
Among the keynote speakers, Wang Wei, a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), shared insights on how different civilizations have evolved, drawing on an interdisciplinary perspective. He also reflected on how diverse cultural traditions shape modernization and social progress.
