The 2026 Tapo Temple Fair is being held from July 18 to July 26. On the evening of July 19, the fair's highlight, the water-passing ceremony, took center stage. Blessed water from a thousand-year-old well was passed on in a relay. It carries people's wishes for a better life, and symbolizes the continuous inheritance of Lingnan cultural heritage.
As the birthplace of Foshan's name, Tapo is known as "the Origin of Foshan." The Tapo Temple Fair is also one of the most iconic traditional folk festivals in the city. Throughout the nine-day grand event, the fair features fish lantern parades, intangible heritage kung fu shows, and a folk market.
