Guangdong is set to experience unsettled weather and heavy rain during the May Day holiday (May 1-5). The heaviest rainfall is expected at both the beginning and end of the holiday, particularly in northern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta.
From April 29 to 30, Yunfu, Zhaoqing, and western Guangdong will see cloudy skies with scattered showers. Other areas will remain mostly cloudy, with maximum temperatures ranging from 29°C to 33°C.
From the night of April 30 to May 1, Shaoguan, Qingyuan, Yunfu, and the northern Pearl River Delta areas will experience overcast skies with moderate to heavy rain and localized downpours. Other regions will face thunderstorms and short bursts of strong winds (6-8 levels). Temperatures will peak between 24°C and 28°C in northern areas, and 28°C to 31°C elsewhere.
From May 2 to 3, most regions will be cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. From the night of May 3 to May 5, northern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta will encounter overcast skies with heavy rain, strong winds (7-10 levels), and thunderstorms. Other areas will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms.
In urban Guangzhou, April 30 will bring thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 30°C. From May 1 to 3, the city will see cloudy weather and isolated showers, with temperatures between 23°C and 31°C. On the night of May 3 to May 4, moderate thunderstorms are expected, with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C. On May 5, overcast skies and heavy rain is forecasted with temperatures between 23°C and 27°C.
