Located in central-western Guangdong, Yunfu, the province's youngest city, is becoming a favorite summer getaway. Celebrating its 30th anniversary last year, Yunfu combines rich history with stunning natural beauty, making it a beloved destination for locals seeking respite from the summer heat.
With a history dating back to 742 AD, Yunfu's rich heritage is complemented by its breathtaking landscapes. The city boasts a high forest coverage rate of 68.53% and excellent air quality, featuring natural scenic spots like Dajing Mountain, Yunfu's "green lung," and Bapai Mountain, where lush grasslands and forests provide a cool summer retreat. At the 1,137-meter-high wind farm in Xinxing County, visitors can enjoy refreshing breezes and panoramic views beneath cotton-like clouds.
Yunfu also shines for its cuisine, with local dishes such as rice noodle rolls, roasted pork, and Loding fish tofu attracting food lovers.
Strategically located at the crossroads of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), southwestern China, and ASEAN regions, Yunfu is rapidly becoming a commercial hub. With industries like stone, stainless steel, and traditional Chinese medicine expanding globally, the city is transforming into a key international trade center.
The completion of the Foshan-Zhaoqing-Yunfu Expressway has reduced travel time to Guangzhou to just one hour and to the Pearl River Delta hub airports to only 30 minutes. With its efficient transport, lush ecology, and favorable policies, Yunfu is swiftly gaining popularity as a "new favorite" for talent and businesses in the GBA.
