China's manufacturing hub Guangdong has launched the summer phase of its year-long campaign to promote locally made products to global markets.
The "Guangdong Goods Global Reach" Summer Campaign officially began on April 15 at Terminal 3 of the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, one of the largest single airport terminals in the world. The initiative follows an earlier spring edition launched in Foshan, a major manufacturing centre in the province.
Together, the seasonal programme forms a year-long rollout running through 2026, with each phase focusing on key sectors of Guangdong's economy.
Officials say the spring campaign highlighted home appliances, reflecting Foshan's strong manufacturing capacity in the sector. The summer edition shifts focus to motorcycles, smart wearable devices, textiles and clothing, among other consumer goods.
At the airport, the terminal turns into a temporary exhibition space showcasing Guangdong-made products. Booths were arranged in a market-style layout, featuring a range of goods from cultural and creative products to smart home appliances.
A highlight of the exhibition was a motorcycle display zone featuring models produced in Jiangmen, a manufacturing city in Guangdong. The vehicles, with sleek and modern designs, attracted travelers passing through the terminal.
The campaign combines consumer promotions, business cooperation, and digital marketing. Products will be promoted through offline exhibitions, online campaigns, and livestreaming e-commerce platforms, supported by local governments, industry associations, digital platforms, and leading enterprises.
Officials say Guangdong will organize more than 11 major provincial-level promotional events, along with over 40 additional activities across cities in the province.
Alongside consumer-oriented events, the campaign also aims to strengthen business-to-business cooperation. It connects manufacturers with wholesalers, retailers, and supply chain partners across both traditional industries such as apparel, toys, and furniture, and emerging sectors including robotics, the low-altitude economy, and biomedicine.
The province is also developing a long-term mechanism to support companies in expanding into new markets. Measures include improved trade matchmaking, expanded online sales channels, and stronger regional branding for Guangdong products.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to boost domestic consumption while enhancing the global competitiveness of Chinese-made goods.
