On January 21, the finals of the 2024 Guangdong Little Weathermen Contest wrapped up successfully in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
The competition has attracted 12,470 elementary school students in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to participate since its launch in late May 2024. One hundred two contestants have advanced to the semi-final, and 30 to the final.
The competition consists of three sessions, including the meteorological forecasting show, judges' Q&A, and meteorological quiz. Contestants focused closely on the competition theme, interpreting meteorology in various ways such as stage plays and poetry recitation. The competition also featured a professional performance show and an interactive Q&A session.
Through the final competition, five contestants won the first prize, ten won the second prize, and fifteen won the third prize. Meanwhile, Zhang Wanlin from Macao won the Best Performance Award, and He Weirui from Guangdong province won the Best Creativity Award. All the instructors of the contestants won the Excellent Instruction Award.
The competition has been held for three years, attracting the participation of more than 60,000 elementary school students from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
