Maoming explores fishery and agricultural cooperation with Tanzania

On May 26, an investment promotion event co-hosted by the Maoming Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Tanzania Canton Chamber of Commerce was held in Maoming, bringing together government officials and entrepreneurs from both sides.

Maoming, located at the intersection of three national strategic zones, is home to three industrial clusters, each on the scale of RMB 100 billion, in petrochemicals, agriculture, and construction. As "China's Tilapia Capital", the city has developed a complete aquatic products industrial chain covering tilapia breeding, farming, and intensive processing. Representatives from Tanzania introduced the country's natural resources, investment policies, and fishery projects, expressing strong interest in deeper cooperation. Participants held in-depth discussions on aquaculture, agricultural trade, and project implementation, reaching several preliminary cooperation agreements.

Going forward, relevant departments in Maoming will further strengthen economic and trade exchanges with Tanzania, build on complementary industrial strengths, and promote resource connectivity, technology sharing, and joint project development to deliver mutual benefits.
