The orienteering finals for the masses of the 15th National Games officially opened on May 8 in Maoming, Guangdong—marking the sport's debut in the National Games' mass participation category. Over 350 athletes will compete over four days across diverse natural landscapes including lychee orchards, coastal wetlands, and urban areas.
Organizers highlighted the "Sports + Culture & Tourism + Agriculture" model, aligning with Maoming's upcoming lychee harvest season by featuring 20 cultural and food stalls, along with interactive games, engaging both athletes and visitors.
