Qingyuan's Lianzhou kicks off forest culture week with immersive hike

In early winter, Jinfeng Mountain Forest Park in Lianzhou, Qingyuan City in northern Guangdong, remains lush and vibrant. On November 4, around 60 residents and forestry workers participated in an immersive forest hike at the park, marking the opening of the Lianzhou session of the 6th Guangdong Forest Culture Week.

As a key part of Guangdong's ecological shield, Lianzhou boasts a forest coverage rate of 68.32%. In 2025, the city planted 267,800 new saplings, achieving a survival rate of over 85%. With its refreshing air and dense greenery, Jinfeng Mountain Forest Park (巾峰山森林公园) serves as the city's "green lung" and a cherished retreat for residents.

An on-site exhibition also showcased Lianzhou's ecological achievements through vivid images. Among the highlights was the "Flower and Fruit Economic Belt"—nine themed routes spanning 250 kilometers, connecting scenic mountains, rivers, blossoms, and orchards, and offering visitors the charm of "spring flowers, summer retreats, autumn fruits, and winter snow."

The event aimed to inspire the public to embrace nature and actively contribute to building a greener, more eco-friendly Lianzhou.
