Guangdong to face new heavy rainfall on night of May 8

Starting from the evening of May 8, a new round of heavy rainfall is set to hit Guangdong. Northern Guangdong and the central-northern part of the Pearl River Delta region are the main areas affected this time.

The Guangdong Meteorological Service has issued a warning that the areas experiencing precipitation on May 9-10 will overlap with those that have already been impacted by intense rainfall previously. Cities and counties in northern Guangdong and the central-northern part of the Pearl River Delta region face a relatively high potential risk of geological disasters. Precautions against disasters, including mountain torrents, mud-rock flows, landslides, and rockfalls induced by heavy rainfall, are necessary.
