Guangdong advanced to the semifinals of the 15th National Games women's basketball after a 102-73 win over Shanghai on the afternoon of November 13 at the gymnasium of the Shunde Sports Centre in Foshan.
Guangdong team set the tone early, racing to a 30-14 lead in the first quarter with outside shooting from Wu Tongtong, who hit three of her four three-point attempts. Center Chen Mingling, the tournament's top scorer in the group stage, continued her consistent form with a team-high 22 points in this game.
Shanghai tried to rally in the second quarter, but Guangdong allowed no comeback and kept a commanding lead until the end.
Guangdong has maintained a dominant run throughout the tournament, having beaten Hubei, Zhejiang, and Shandong by wide margins in the group stage. Chen has been the standout performer, scoring 94 points across those three games. The team will face its semifinal opponent on November 14.
