China is welcoming its 5-day May Day holiday. If you are still looking for places to visit, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin is a nice choice, where you can enjoy a refreshing mix of culture and nature this May Day holiday.
Free art exhibitions
From April 30 to May 31, Tianhuixing Art Studio in Hengqin will host a dual-theme art exhibition, titled "Spring Buds Sprout: N Possibilities for Artistic Growth". This initiative serves as a bridge for interaction between creators from Macao and audiences from Macao and Hengqin.
As an innovative platform for artistic expression in Hengqin, the exhibition features nearly 170 works from the Fuhong Society of Macau and Pui Va Middle School of Macau.
Curated by the Fuhong Society, one art exhibition features 35 pieces by artists with disabilities. Autistic artist Leung Ying Wai, also known as "0.38", from Macao, will also contribute.
Organized by Pui Va Middle School, a parent-child exhibition features 134 imaginative artworks created by 130 young artists. With themes of innocence and love, the collection radiates pure creativity and heartfelt expression.

Near Station 1 of the Hengqin Flower Corridor, a 4,000-square-meter rose garden is full of blooms, showcasing over 40,000 grand roses across six different varieties.
Station 5 of the Hengqin Flower Corridor reveals a vast 17,000-square-meter cosmos field. The cosmos flower carries symbolic meanings of purity, freedom, and everlasting happiness.
Festive decorations in the cityscape
At the Hengqin Port, design elements incorporating five-pointed stars symbolize unity and strength, celebrating the collaborative efforts of workers in building a better future.
At Jiulongxi Square, the decorations adopt a creative and artistic approach, featuring palettes and paintbrush motifs.
Macao New Neighbourhood Hengqin and the Second Hengqin Bridge blend cultural elements from Hengqin and Macao. Dominated by yellow, purple, and pink flowers, the arrangements create a festive atmosphere for Labor Day.
