On the night of November 10, Guangdong secured its place in the semifinals of the 15th National Games men's basketball tournament with a 107–65 victory over Tianjin at the Dongguan Bank Basketball Center. Guangdong took control early and dominated on both ends of the court, showcasing depth and balance throughout their lineup.

Ten of Guangdong's 12 players contributed points, with Du Runwang leading the way with 19, including five three-pointers from seven attempts. The victory continued Guangdong's strong run of form as they now prepare to face Liaoning in the semifinal on November 11.
The upcoming clash is expected to be one of the tournament's highlights, as Guangdong and Liaoning share a long-standing rivalry in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Although the team rosters in the National Games and the CBA are not identical, the Guangdong–Liaoning matchup remains a classic fixture in Chinese basketball, often delivering fierce competition and high-level play.
