Zhanjiang has marked 2025 as a key year for its foreign affairs work, expanding international ties while supporting local economic growth, officials say.
The coastal city in southern China has hosted regular visits by foreign diplomats, sent senior leaders overseas, and signed new cooperation agreements with cities in Europe and beyond.
Five new friendly cities were added, including Nice and Sceaux in France, Rovaniemi in Finland, and Mantua Province and Guidizzolo in Italy, bringing the total to 27. Authorities also provided targeted services for major foreign-invested projects and promoted Zhanjiang internationally through trade events and cultural exchanges.
These efforts aim to link the city more closely with global markets and raise its international profile.
