Around 25 technology companies from the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin will take part in the inaugural Global Artificial Intelligence Machines & Electronics Expo (AIE), set to run from December 4-6 across twin venues in Macao and Zhuhai.

The new expo is positioned as a joint showcase of emerging technologies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, bringing together firms working in integrated circuits, robotics, smart-home systems, and other fast-moving innovation sectors.

Organizers expect a substantial turnout, with about 1,000 technology companies from around the world, around 70,000 professional visitors, and 5,000 international buyers set to attend. Alongside the exhibition, the program includes an opening ceremony, a main forum, multiple side forums, and a series of product launches.

The Macao venue at the Venetian Cotai Expo will focus on intelligent electronics, including smart communications and the Internet of Things (IoT), which connects devices through data networks, along with immersive media and metaverse technologies. Exhibits will span satellite communications, integrated circuits, AR/VR, and quantum information. In Zhuhai, the International Convention & Exhibition Center will highlight intelligent machinery, featuring industrial robots, new-energy vehicles, low-altitude aviation, and smart-health technologies.

For Hengqin, the expo offers a platform to emphasize the deepening Macao-Hengqin innovation link and the island's ambitions in next-generation technology.
