The Research Group on the Development Index of Chinese Small and Medium-sized Cities, together with the Guoxin Small and Medium-sized Cities Index Institute, recently released the 2025 High-Quality Development Index of Chinese Small and Medium-sized Cities. Huicheng District of Huizhou City earned a place on four national top-100 lists: Comprehensive Strength, Green Development, Investment Potential, and Scientific and Technological Innovation.

The Research Group on the Development Index of Chinese Small and Medium-sized Cities, along with the Guoxin Small and Medium-sized Cities Index Institute, has developed a comprehensive index system for Chinese small and medium-sized cities.

It features five primary indicators—economic development, innovation, ecological environment, urban-rural integration, and social harmony—supported by 15 secondary indicators, including development level, innovation capacity, green consumption, urban-rural construction, and common prosperity. Huicheng District's inclusion in four national top-100 lists underscores its strong economic agglomeration, green development, investment potential, and scientific and technological innovation.

Since the start of the year, Huicheng District has pursued steady progress while aiming for breakthroughs in developing a modern, first-class central district. From January to July, the district's industrial output above designated size reached 51.55 billion yuan, a 10.8% year-on-year increase, while total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 48.106 billion yuan, reflecting a 6.4% year-on-year increase.
