The third stop of the 2025 China BMX Freestyle League took place from May 15 to 16 at the Huangjiang BMX Sports Training Base in Dongguan, attracting over 120 competitors from across the nation.
As part of the 15th National Games, this event featured six categories: elite men's, elite women's, youth, and junior divisions. The competition was organized by the China Bicycle Sports Association, with Vice Secretary-General and national team leader Xiong Xin noting the high caliber of the athletes involved.
World champions such as Deng Yawen, Zhou Huimin, Sun Sibai, and Sun Jiaqi participated, making the event's intensity comparable to that of the World Cup.
After two days of competition, the elite events drew significant attention. Sun Sibai from the Hebei Hengzhong Cycling Team claimed the women's title, while Guangdong's Guo Jinghao took home the men's championship.
Among the notable performances was Liu Haoran, who previously won the youth category at the FISE World Series in Shanghai. Liu secured his third gold medal of the year in the youth men's division, impressively executing a "double backflip" for the first time in competition. "This is a breakthrough for me," said Liu, expressing his determination to continue improving and aiming for success at the National Games and the Olympics.
The Huangjiang BMX Sports Training Base, officially opened on the first day of the competition, covers 10,000 square meters and features a replica of the BMX course used in the Paris Olympic qualifiers. This unique training facility, designed with "Olympic standard + practical scenario" in mind, also includes a fitness center and a comprehensive building that can accommodate 120 athletes, providing extensive support for competitors.
