Maoming Port handles over 24 million tons of cargo in 2025

The import and export cargo volume of Maoming Port reached 24.093 million tons in 2025, up 44.1 percent year-on-year, with total trade value hitting 11.95 billion U.S. dollars, a 25.7-percent increase, according to Maoming Customs.

At the port's terminals, resource-based commodities such as rapeseed from Canada, coal from Australia, and propane-butane from the Middle East are being continuously unloaded, supplying raw materials to enterprises in Maoming's port-centered industrial zone. Bulk commodities, including iron ore from the Middle East and ferronickel from Indonesia, are distributed and transported to inland areas, while local products,s such as petrochemical goods, fresh lychees, longans, and tilapia, are exported to overseas markets via the port.

To support port-centered industrial development, Maoming Customs has promoted efficient clearance models including advance declaration, direct pickup at the quay, and direct loading upon arrival, along with facilitation measures such as "release first, inspection later." These efforts have ensured stable supplies of imported raw materials and smooth export clearance. In 2025, imports included 1.113 million tons of propane-butane, up 17.6 percent, and 381,000 tons of rapeseed, significantly boosting cargo throughput.

The opening of the dedicated rail line linking Maoming Guanggang Wharf with Bohe Railway Station, along with the operation of China's longest fuel oil pipeline, has markedly upgraded the port's logistics system. Maoming Port has now established a seamless transport network integrating direct ship-to-shore operations, road transport, and rail-water intermodal connectivity.
