As of December 11, 2024, China Southern Airlines will launch its inaugural flight on the Guangzhou-Haikou route served by the domestically made C919 plane. With this new addition, the total number of cities served by the C919 aircraft has reached 10.
This flight also marks the first commercial operation of the C919 in Hainan and is the fourth route for China Southern Airlines to use the C919, following Guangzhou, Shanghai Hongqiao, Hangzhou, and Chengdu Tianfu.
Starting from December 16, the airline will operate the "China Southern Air Shuttle" flights between Guangzhou and Haikou, with two daily round-trip flights.
The flight schedule is as follows:
● CZ6786/6777: Departing from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 11:30, arriving at Haikou Meilan International Airport at 13:05. The return flight departs Haikou at 14:20 and arrives in Guangzhou at 15:40.
● CZ6778/6783: Departing from Guangzhou at 16:50, arriving in Haikou at 18:20. The return flight departs Haikou at 19:35 and arrives in Guangzhou at 20:55.
Currently, the C919 is already in regular service on the Guangzhou-Shanghai Hongqiao, Guangzhou-Hangzhou, and Guangzhou-Chengdu Tianfu routes.
Meanwhile, China Eastern Airlines has also introduced two new C919-operated routes this month: Shanghai Hongqiao-Chongqing and Shanghai Hongqiao-Wuhan, bringing the total number of C919 commercial routes to eight.
Air China currently operates the C919 on four routes: Beijing Capital-Shanghai Hongqiao, Beijing Capital-Hangzhou, Beijing Capital-Chengdu Shuangliu, and Beijing Capital-Wuhan.
