The sighting has attracted birdwatchers and photographers from across China, including enthusiasts from Chongqing and Hong Kong, who have gathered by the lake each morning with telephoto lenses. Experts say the bird is highly sensitive to water quality and habitat conditions, and its arrival reflects the continued improvement of the ecological environment of Huizhou West Lake.
